Dessy Boneva has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who’s Who Biographical Registry

Ms. Boneva has distinguished herself through her passion for saving lives.

MIAMI, February 9, 2021 – Dessy Boneva has been inducted into Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

In Bulgaria, Ms. Boneva attended a specialized school and began her career in engineering. She subsequently attended a technical university and was selected to study in Moscow, Russia. Later, she embarked upon a mission trip to help translate Russian to English, and developed a deep passion for medicine and helping patients. Reflecting on the example of her mother, who was a doctor in her own right, Ms. Boneva resolve to pursue the field herself.

After receiving a Doctor of Medicine, Ms. Boneva undertook a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Baltimore VA Medical Center, after which she completed residencies at the University of Maryland and Dartmouth University, and a fellowship at the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins University. Presently, she holds several positions in the medical field. Ms. Boneva currently works at the University of South Florida, Kendall Regional Medical Center (KRMC), Florida International University and Cornell University. She is also the surgery clerkship director and a clinical assistant professor at Nova Southeastern University.

As an accomplished professional, Dr. Boneva is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Likewise, in 2020, she was recognized as a Top Trauma Surgeon. As a commitment to her field, Dr. Boneva maintains her affiliation with the American Heart Association, the American Board of Surgery, the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the Pan-American Trauma Society and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Throughout the course of her career, Dr. Boneva has attributed her standout success to her mother and mentors. In the coming years, she plans to continue practicing medicine. Dr. Boneva would also like to publish some of her patients’ success stories, perform more research and teach further on a local and international level.
